Prosper Maufoux in Burgundy since 1860
Refined bed and breakfast in the heart of a prestigious Wine House.
From May 2020, our wine house will be leaving its home in Santenay and opening its
doors for you in the Château de Saint-Aubin.
The great tradition of wine making
Since 1860, the expertise of Prosper Maufoux has served a wide array of Burgundian appellations.
Regional appellations or 'grands crus' (great wines), the House standards in terms of culture, grapes, wine making and maturation, tend to always make the best use of each area of land. Our wines are matured in oak barrels, the age, origin and heating of which are carefully combined and tailored to the origin of each grape and to the vintage. They rest in our vaulted cellars for 12 to 18 months, an environment best suited to their development. Tastings and regular technical controls allow us to monitor their development and guarantee quality and authenticity. The care taken in every stage of production is regularly rewarded with many medals and awards...
Pascale Rifaux opens the door to the Prosper Maufoux Wine House. You will stay in the heart of the Santenay village, in a spectacular mansion house built in 1835 by Jacques Marie Duvault-Blochet, the owner, at the time, of the prestigious domaine de la Romanée Conti.
Enjoy carefully renovated spacious rooms and discover astonishing vaulted cellars from the 15th Century. It's in this beautiful place that we raise our great Burgundy wines and where we have the pleasure of offering you a tasting of the House jewels, from the famous Route des Grands Crus (Grand Crus Wine Road) Santenay - Dijon.
On the border of the Saône et Loire et the Côte D'or, about 15 mins from Beaune and Chalon-sur-Saône, you will discover the surroundings of Santenay and enjoy the landmarks of Burgundy during your stay.
